In this video, HMC's founder Kelly Rain Collin shares advocacy tips and strategies for parents as they navigate the educational system and discusses how to engage support from individuals knowledgeable of FASD throughout the process.
About the Presenter
Kelly Rain Collin, Ed.M., is the founder and director of Healthy Minds Consulting. She holds degrees in Child Development and Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and earned her Master’s in Risk and Prevention from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Since 1990, she has worked with children and youth facing complex educational and mental health challenges, including those impacted by prenatal substance exposure. Kelly provides consultation and training on FASD-informed IEP development, supporting families, schools, and professionals in creating effective and compassionate educational plans.
