FASD in a Nutshell is an introduction to prenatal alcohol exposure that defines FASD, explains the disorders on the spectrum and symptoms associated with FASD as well as shares systems of care that are impacted. Participants will be able to: 1) define FASD; 2) identify disorders on the spectrum; and 3) recognize symptoms.

About the Presenter

Susan Elsworth is the Founder and Executive Director of Indiana Alliance on Prenatal Substance Exposure, the Director of Family Advocacy for Mental Health America and the FASD United Affiliate Network Coordinator. While serving as a foster parent for the State of Indiana for 12 years, she and her husband adopted 9 children from the child welfare system, 5 of which have experienced prenatal alcohol exposure with long term effects. Susan serves on several state collaboratives with a focus to improve the quality of life for individuals with prenatal exposure and their families.
